Why this pairing works
Two shades of warm-orange create a tonal palette in the same way sage + eucalyptus does for green. Terracotta is the brighter, rust is the deeper. Together they avoid the trap of full-saturation pumpkin orange while still committing to a fall identity.
Best for
October and November. Outdoor harvest-festival venues, vineyards, barn weddings. Strongly fall-coded — don't attempt outside the season.
Where it breaks
Two warm colors with no cool break reads heavy. Always add cream (40%+) and ideally a green (sage or olive) for cool relief.
