When the Coral & Teal palette is the right choice

Coral + Teal is the destination-wedding palette that's almost impossible to execute in mainland US conditions and nearly automatic in Caribbean, Mexican, or Mediterranean settings. The reason is lighting: this palette is the only one in our library that requires full direct sunlight to photograph correctly. Most palettes lose visual impact in hard sun; this one gains it. Coral pops, teal deepens, and the saturation hierarchy that would feel kitsch in diffused light reads as confident in tropical brightness.

When this palette is the right choice. Beach and tropical destination weddings — Caribbean (Mexico Yucatán, Bahamas, Turks & Caicos), Greek islands, Hawaiian beaches, Sicily. Daytime ceremonies. Resort or beach-club venues with bright natural light. Couples who want a saturated palette without going wedding-magazine kitsch — the destination context makes the saturation read as place-appropriate.

Where it underperforms. Mainland US weddings outside tropical climates rarely have the lighting to support this palette. New England, Pacific Northwest, and Midwest weddings under typical regional light flatten both colors. Indoor receptions are catastrophic — coral goes orange under tungsten, teal goes muddy-grey. Schedule outdoor ceremony AND reception, or pick a different palette. Avoid pairing with bright second accents (lime, magenta) — they break the warm-cool balance.

How it compares to siblings. For the beach palette without coral, see Sunset Beach. For a more subdued warm-cool pairing that works in non-tropical lighting, see Peach & Cream. The Coral + Teal combo page explains why tropical palettes have such narrow execution windows.

Why this palette works

Bright, beach-leaning palette. Best at coastal or destination weddings. The five-color structure (one dominant, one secondary, one neutral base, plus two accent shades) is the format every working wedding palette uses — it gives florists, stationers, and rental teams enough variation to compose a room without becoming busy.
